Ask whether the solicitor has handled similar injuries, who may be legally responsible, what evidence is needed and whether any time limit applies. Clarify how the claim would be funded, including a conditional fee agreement, possible deductions, insurance and any expenses you might have to pay. It is also sensible to ask how the claim’s value and prospects will be assessed, how long it may take and who will update you. Check that the firm is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), and consider independent advice before signing an agreement.
